Green Thumb Farm works with children, young people, and community groups, including schools and families. Queensland law requires certain roles to hold a Blue Card, which Green Thumb Farm complies to ensure a safe, welcoming environment. All staff and some volunteer roles require a Working With Children Check (Blue Card).

Who may be exempt?

Some individuals may not need a Blue Card, including:

  • Volunteers working in activities that do not require interaction with children.
  • Volunteers and staff under 18 (if they are not a restricted person)

  • Individuals working/volunteering 7 days or fewer per calendar year

Important: A Restricted Person cannot rely on any exemptions.

Important Note for Volunteers

You've received this induction module because a Blue Card is required for your Role. In the next modules, we will guide you, step by step, of what information we need you to provide in case you already have a blue card or how to request one at no cost in case you still don't have it.
